Deborah Balsdon MICCM (Hons Dip), the Manager has over 15 years of experience in bereavement services and holds a diploma with honours in Cemetery and Crematorium Management. She is passionate about the whole team delivering excellent customer service and is qualified to step into any of the roles should the need arise.
Karen Smith has worked in bereavement services for nine years. She joined WLDC in 2019 and has now gained her Crematorium Management Certificate in addition to already achieving her Advanced Certificate in Crematorium Proficiency and Techniques. Karen has mentored all the staff to enable them to become qualified crematorium technicians and now heads our aftercare services.
Tony Kirkham joined the team in January 2020 having had previous experience working with the bereaved as a Funeral Arranger. He obtained his Certificate in Crematorium Proficiency at the end of July the same year, and his mentoring certification in 2022. Tony is multi skilled, and embraces the opportunity to offer excellent customer service to all our users.
Trudi Hayes volunteered to be redeployed from the Civic team in the council at the beginning of the pandemic, March 2020. Thrown in at the deep end, she rose to the challenge and excelled. Gaining her Certificate in Crematorium Proficiency in March 2021 Trudi never went back and became a valued, permanent member of the team in November 2021.
Celia Chapman had worked at West Lindsey District Council for 35 years before joining Lea Fields in 2020. Celia was trained to add more resilience to the service during the pandemic and gained her certificate in cremating in March 2021. In April 2024 she became a permanent member of the team and is driven to provide the best customer service possible and is a great asset to Lea Fields.
There are roadworks on the A156 at the junction of Lea Road and Foxby Hill, these are causing delays to journey times, therefore we advise that you allow extra time if travelling to the crematorium from the direction of Gainsborough.
